This is a 5-year temporary residence visa for those who intend to become designated investors in Australia. Applicants who have lived in Australia for 2 years within 3 years can apply for permanent residency.

Application requirements

* Successful application: temporary residence

* Target: professional investors

* Age limit: Under 55 years old

* Points t requirement: 65 points

* Asset requirements: The total net assets should reach more than AUD2,500,000, and be able to transfer the amount to Australia within 2 years; have 3 years of business management experience or investment experience before application.

* Business background: You can apply if you meet one of the following for at least 1 year in the 5 fiscal years before application:
1) Own at least 10% of the shares of a qualifying enterprise and directly participate in daily management; or
2) Own a compliant investment project with a value of at least AUD2,500,000 and directly participate in the management of the project.

* English proficiency: no requirement

* Nomination: Invited by individual provinces

* Investment requirements: Within 30 days after receiving the investment notification, a qualifying investment of at least AUD2,500,000 is required, and the investment must be continued during the temporary residence visa period:

1) 20% of which will invest at least AUD500,000 in funds that support Australian innovation and technology and small private enterprises: venture capital and private growth equity funds;
2) 30% of which shall invest at least AUD750,000 in managed funds of companies listed on the Australian stock exchange (ASX);
3) The last 50%, invest at least AUD1,250,000 in balancing investment into managed funds.

* Visa validity: 5 years of temporary residence

* Apply for permanent residence: Within the three years of holding the 188B temporary residence visa, if you have lived in the invited province for a total of two years, you can apply for 888 permanent resident status.
