Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)


The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) is a program for skilled workers who have obtained a skilled trade qualification and have a valid job offer in Canada or a qualification that qualifies them to work in Canada. FSTP is also a pathway to permanent residency.


Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)

Application requirement :

* Successful application: permanent residence

* Target: People with overseas work experience

* Age limit: 18 years or above

* Language skills: English or French: CLB 5: Listening and Speaking / CLB 4: Writing and Reading

* Job category: one of TEER 2 or 3

* Work experience: Accumulated at least two years of work experience in the past 5 years

* Job Recruitment:

a) Obtain employment from a Canadian employer and be assisted by the employer in applying for LMIA;
or
b) Apply for federal/provincial government technical experience assessment and go to Canada in person to pass the technical examination

* Academic level: No requirement

* Nomination: No requirement, additional points in the Comprehensive Ranking System if provincially nominated

Visa validity: 5 years of permanent residence

* Visa fees: main applicant: CAD1,356 / spouse: CAD1,356 / unmarried children: CAD230

* Application time:

* Attached family members: spouse and unmarried children under the age of 22

AIMS Service Process

AIMS Service Process
  • 1. Preliminary inquiries to AIMS and understand the project content
  • 2. Immigration assessment by AIMS consultant
  • 3. Sign a service agreement with AIMS and pay the service fee, and collect various documents from the applicant at the same time
  • 4. AIMS will apply for Canadian Educational Certification (ECA) on your behalf and create a Canadian Express Entry file
  • 5. After receiving the invitation letter from IRCC, AIMS will reply on your behalf and submit the visa application within 60 days.
  • 6. While waiting for approval, your family needs to undergo a physical examination and obtain a clean criminal record.
